Lead and manage the daily operations of the deposit team, ensuring all retail banking transactions—including cash handling, fund transfers, time deposits, FPS transactions, and cheque clearing—are processed accurately and efficiently.
Review, monitor, and optimize electronic clearing systems to minimize operational risks and enhance throughput.
Handle complex enquiries from retail customers and internal business units, providing professional resolutions and guidance.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional departments to strengthen operational workflows and ensure full compliance with HKMA guidelines and related statutory rules.
Provide regular training, coaching, and mentorship to team members to drive capability growth and operational excellence.
Prepare comprehensive operational performance reports and regular metrics for senior management review.
Oversee and execute user acceptance testing (UAT), system enhancements, and drive ad-hoc operational projects as assigned by management.
skills & experiences required.
Bachelor’s degree or above in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of relevant deposit and clearing experience within the commercial or retail banking industry, with proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
Deep operational familiarity with HKICL cheque clearing, auto-clearing systems, and FPS real-time payment infrastructure.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a pleasant and professional demeanor.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound operational decisions under pressure, and foster a collaborative team environment.
Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with a strong fluency in Mandarin being highly advantageous.
Immediate or short-notice availability is highly preferred.
