- Strategic Administration: Partner closely with the General Manager to steer the strategic planning, business development, and day-to-day functions of the Operations Department, ensuring full alignment with institutional growth strategies and compliance benchmarks.
- Operational Supervision: Direct and manage the daily workflows of specialized teams covering customer services, clearing, settlement, remittances, and operational control to guarantee smooth business execution.
- Policy Optimization: Formulate, refine, and upgrade departmental operating procedures, policies, and internal control structures to maximize efficiency and service delivery.
- Risk & Governance: Strengthen internal governance and operational risk management frameworks to ensure potential risks are proactively identified, assessed, and minimized.
- Digital Transformation: Spearhead process optimization workflows, system enhancement initiatives, and digital transformation projects to modernize the bank's operational standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain a highly collaborative relationship with the Head Office and cross-functional business units to provide reliable operational support and foster business expansion.
- Talent Development: Drive internal human capital growth by leading mentorship, talent cultivation, and team development initiatives within the department.
- Audit & Examination Management: Coordinate responses to Head Office inspections, regulatory examinations, and external or internal audits, while executing necessary corrective and remediation protocols.
- Special Projects: Execute ad-hoc assignments, strategic initiatives, and other duties as directed by executive management.
- Alternative Track: High-potential candidates with a slightly shorter track record of leadership experience may be considered for the Assistant General Manager position.
skills & experiences required.
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in Finance, Banking, Risk Management, or Business Administration.
- A minimum of 10 years of banking operations experience, with at least 5 years operating at a managerial level.
- Deep functional expertise in trade finance operations, clearing and settlement, customer service, and operational risk mitigation.
- Comprehensive understanding of Hong Kong banking regulations, AML guidelines, compliance structures, and internal control frameworks.
- Strong leadership credentials with proven capabilities in team management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Solid familiarity with core banking infrastructures, payment systems, and operations-driven digital transformation.
- Professional credentials such as ACAMS or HKIB Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) certifications are a distinct advantage.
- Practical experience managing regulatory audits, internal inspections, or large-scale transformation projects.
- Excellent multilingual communication skills, with fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
