- Administering and optimising Unix/Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu), virtualisation platforms, and network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs).
- Supporting the technical execution of the data centre relocation project, including architecture planning, migration strategy, and system stabilisation.
- Maintaining high system availability and performance through proactive monitoring, patching, and capacity planning.
- Executing system cut-over and migration activities with a focus on minimising downtime, conducting rigorous testing, and post-implementation reviews.
- Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and managing external vendors to monitor project timelines, mitigate risks, and manage dependencies.
- Producing and updating technical documentation, including migration runbooks, system diagrams, risk assessments, rollback plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring infrastructure designs and operations comply with IT security best practices and mission-critical requirements.
- Driving infrastructure automation and efficiency using scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) or configuration management tools.
- Providing on-site and non-office hours support as required during migration stages and regular or emergency maintenance windows.
skills & experiences required.
- A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure administration across server and network environments.
- Proven experience in infrastructure migration or large-scale system upgrade projects (e.g., OS migration, hardware refresh, or cloud migration).
- In-depth expertise in Unix/Linux server design (Red Hat/Ubuntu) and virtualisation technologies.
- Solid experience in enterprise network deployment and security utilising Cisco, Fortinet, or similar industry-leading brands.
- Strong understanding of data centre architecture, including power/cooling requirements, rack layout, and structured cabling.
- Demonstrated ability in project coordination, external vendor management, and stakeholder communication.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Professional fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese is required.
- Direct experience in multi-phase or large-scale physical data centre relocation projects is highly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, RHCSA, RHCE, Fortinet NSE, or F5 Certified are highly advantageous.
