You will join a high-octane, cross-border Business Development collective that acts as the strategic engine for our APAC Intellectual Property (IP) and Global Regulatory practices. This is not a siloed regional role; you will be a central node in a global network, collaborating daily with our Global Director in the US and Senior M&BD leads in EMEA (specifically Germany). - Orchestrate the regional business planning process by translating global IP and Regulatory objectives into actionable, revenue-focused roadmaps for the APAC market.
- Spearhead the end-to-end "Pitch-to-Win" lifecycle, crafting bespoke, multi-jurisdictional proposals that translate technical legal excellence into compelling client value.
- Elevate the firm’s brand authority through sophisticated content strategies, turning complex legal updates into magnetic thought-leadership for digital and print channels.
- Conceptualize and execute a premier calendar of industry conferences, bespoke seminars, and technical webinars to maximize partner face-time with key global decision-makers.
- Proactively identify "top-of-funnel" prospects and engineer cross-selling opportunities to expand our footprint within existing client portfolios across APAC and beyond.
- Implement structured client feedback initiatives to capture the "voice of the client," using these insights to refine service delivery and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Command the practice’s "information engine" by maintaining rigorous data hygiene for client profiles, deal credentials, and competitive intelligence within our global systems.
- Serve as the critical liaison between APAC leadership and our global hubs (specifically the US and Germany) to ensure unified branding and seamless cross-border execution.
- Act as a hands-on consultant to Partners, providing the tactical support and coaching necessary to hit aggressive financial targets and business plan priorities.
- Navigate the complexities of IP litigation and global regulatory shifts to ensure our firm remains the first choice for high-stakes trade and technology mandates.
skills & experiences required.
- A minimum of six years in high-level Business Development or Marketing, ideally within a major law firm or premium professional services environment.
- Deep familiarity with Intellectual Property, Media, Technology, or Regulatory practice areas, with an insider’s understanding of the APAC legal market.
- Absolute professional command of English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is mandatory, including the ability to produce flawless, client-ready content and proofread with extreme precision.
- Demonstrated success working within a complex, global matrix organization, showing a collaborative spirit and the ability to build rapport across time zones.
- Exceptional personal communication skills with the gravitas to navigate relationships with senior Partners and act as a trusted strategic advisor.
- A self-starter with the "under-pressure" capability to prioritize and manage multiple high-stakes workstreams simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
- Strong commercial numeracy and the ability to translate market data into strategic business insights.
- A proven track record of handling highly confidential and sensitive information with absolute integrity and trust.
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT) and a quick-study approach to sophisticated BD tools like InterAction (CRM) and digital marketing systems.
