Trade Settlement: Handle day-to-day settlement, fund transfers, and accounting entries for equities, bonds, funds, and derivatives.
Reconciliation: Reconcile trades, cash balances, and positions across brokerage, asset management, and proprietary trading lines; spot and fix any transaction errors.
Counterparty Liaison: Work closely with brokers, custodians, and clearing houses to resolve failed trades, settlement disputes, and corporate action issues.
System Operations: Run and maintain settlement platforms like CCASS, Euroclear, and Clearstream.
Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly settlement, cash position, and risk reports.
Data Analysis: Analyze data on settlement fail-rates and fund utilization to help management optimize workflows.
New Product Testing: Help design and test settlement systems for new products (e.g., Stock Connect, Bond Connect, ETFs, and swaps).
Ad-hoc Tasks: Support audits, compliance checks, and cross-department projects.
skills & experiences required.
3+ years in middle/back-office settlement (covering HK, A-shares, US, and bonds).
Hands-on experience with T+0, T+1, and T+2 settlement cycles.
Practical exposure to SFC Type 1 (Securities) and Type 9 (Asset Management) regulated activities.
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred.
Hong Kong SFC Licenses (Papers 1, 7, 8) or CPA/ACCA are a plus.
- Proficient with CCASS, Euroclear, and Clearstream.
