- Plan, execute, and finalise IT projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, overseeing the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
- Act as the central point of contact between local technical teams, business units, and stakeholders at the Japanese headquarters.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, while developing comprehensive project plans using standard project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project).
- Proactively identify project roadblocks and risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide regular status reports to senior management.
- Direct and manage cross-functional project teams, ensuring optimal allocation of technical resources.
- Champion appropriate project methodologies, including Agile/Scrum or Waterfall, by leading stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
skills & experiences required.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as an IT Project Manager delivering software or infrastructure projects.
- Fluency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or N1 equivalent) and business-level English to facilitate seamless collaboration with Japanese leadership, read technical documents, and lead complex meetings.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), system integration, and general enterprise IT architecture.
- Solid working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Industry-recognised certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, CSM) and prior experience navigating the corporate culture of a large-scale Japanese multinational company are highly preferred.
