Plan, lead, and execute end-to-end risk-based internal audit assignments across commercial banking operations, treasury, and trade finance business units.
Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control frameworks, financial accounting procedures, and risk management systems.
Ensure all branch operations and commercial lending practices strictly comply with the HKMA supervisory manuals and local regulatory standards.
Formulate high-quality, concise audit working papers and reports that clearly highlight control deficiencies and offer practical remediation strategies.
Partner with business heads and risk owners to track the timely implementation of agreed audit recommendations.
Participate in annual risk assessment exercises and support the continuous optimisation of the regional audit programme.
skills & experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related business discipline.
CPA, CIA, or equivalent professional accounting/auditing qualification is mandatory.
Minimum 4 years of experience in internal audit within a commercial bank, or assurance experience within the Big 4 (banking/financial services audit portfolio).
Strong technical understanding of retail or commercial banking products, internal control concepts, and risk assessment methodologies.
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey audit findings clearly to business units.
Fluency in English and Cantonese is mandatory to effectively conduct audit testing and author high-quality reports; proficiency in Mandarin is a distinct advantage.
