About the Role
Our client is looking for a driven and client-focused Junior Relationship Manager to join their dynamic SME Banking team. In this role, you will manage and grow a portfolio of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) clients. Your primary focus will be providing wealth management solutions (Investment & Insurance) and handling seamless client onboarding, while acting as a trusted financial advisor to business owners.
This is an excellent opportunity for a retail banking professional with strong I&I experience to transition into the corporate/commercial banking sector. While lending experience is not required, we provide a platform for you to develop credit analysis skills to further your career.
Key Responsibilities
1. Portfolio Management & Business Growth (I&I Focus)
Manage and deepen relationships with a portfolio of SME clients, acting as their primary point of contact.
Conduct financial needs analysis to identify opportunities for Investment and Insurance (I&I) products.
Achieve individual sales targets by cross-selling wealth management, treasury, and foreign exchange solutions tailored to business owners.
Proactively acquire new-to-bank customers through referrals, networking, and cold calling.
2. Account Opening & Onboarding
Manage the end-to-end account opening process for corporate clients, ensuring a smooth customer experience.
Perform rigorous Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) due diligence in compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Handle periodic reviews and ensure client data is up to date.
3. Credit & Lending Support
Identify potential borrowing needs (Working Capital, Trade Finance, Commercial Mortgages) within the client portfolio.
Collaborate with credit specialists to initiate loan applications (training provided for those without prior lending experience).
Requirements
Experience & Education:
3+ years of relevant experience in Banking.
Proven track record in selling Investment and Insurance products with strong performance history.
Solid experience in corporate/business account opening procedures, CDD, and KYC compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Skills & Qualifications:
Advantageous: Prior experience in commercial lending or credit analysis is a big plus, but not mandatory.
Required Regulatory Licenses: [e.g., HKSI 1, 7, 8 and IIQE 1, 2, 3 if in Hong Kong, or relevant local equivalents].
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a self-starter mindset.
Language:
Native proficiency in Mandarin OR Cantonese is required.
Professional proficiency in English (written and verbal).
