We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Operations Manager to become a cornerstone of the Hong Kong Operations team. You will support the Operations Manager in mastering the complexities of global payments, ensuring the seamless flow of funds across the world. You will be a key subject matter expert, driving efficiency, accuracy, and innovation within the settlements process.
Your Responsibilities:
Spearhead Settlement Operations: Drive the end-to-end settlement process for high-volume, multi-currency cross-border payments, ensuring impeccable accuracy and timeliness.
Act as a Payments Expert: Serve as the go-to authority on international payment flows, systems, and partner integrations.
Ensure Financial Integrity: Oversee and validate complex bank reconciliations, meticulously investigating and resolving any discrepancies to guarantee transactional accuracy.
Drive Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains within the operations workflow. Participate in the implementation and testing of new payment solutions and integrations.
Lead and Mentor: Provide expert guidance and training to team members, elevating the team's overall performance and accuracy. Assist in overseeing the daily operations and ensuring a smooth handover to overseas counterparts.
Manage Key Relationships: Liaise directly with banking partners and key stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve complex or irregular payment issues, maintaining strong professional relationships.
Uphold Compliance: Monitor and ensure all operations adhere to industry regulations and stringent internal policies.
skills & experiences required.
A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the banking, payment processing, or FinTech industry.
Deep expertise in cross-border payment processes (e.g., SWIFT, local clearing systems) and various payment rails.
Proven experience with payment partner integrations and a strong technical understanding of different payment flows.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify and resolve settlement discrepancies efficiently.
A natural collaborator with outstanding communication skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to operational excellence.
Highly adaptable and eager to stay ahead of the curve with new technologies and changes in the payments landscape.
Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese.
