About the Client Our client is a leading regional Securities and Wealth Management group with a strong footprint in Asia. They provide comprehensive investment solutions (Equities, Bonds, Funds) to High Net Worth (HNW) clients. To support their growing wealth management arm, they are seeking a commercial-minded leader to head their Insurance Brokerage division.
Role Overview This is a dual-function leadership role. You will act as the Business Head and Responsible Officer (RO) for the insurance entity. You will lead the product strategy, manage specialist team, and—most importantly—partner with the firm’s Relationship Managers (RMs) to drive insurance revenue through joint client meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Lead the overall business planning and P&L strategy for the insurance department. Curate and manage the "Product Shelf" (selecting best-in-class products from various insurers).
Sales Enablement (Joint Calls): Act as the technical expert to support RMs in closing high-ticket insurance deals. Join client meetings to pitch complex HNW solutions (e.g., Universal Life, Premium Financing, Annuities).
Regulatory Governance (RO): Serve as the Responsible Officer (RO) for the insurance broker license. Ensure the department complies with all Insurance Authority (IA) regulations and internal risk policies.
Team Management: Manage, coach, and mentor Product Specialists to ensure high service quality and sales support standards.
Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with external insurance providers (AIA, Manulife, etc.) to negotiate better commission rates and exclusive product terms.
Requirements
Qualifications: Current holder of, or immediately eligible to be, a Responsible Officer (RO) under the Insurance Authority (IA).
Experience: 10+ years of relevent experience in Insurance Brokerage, secruties firms or Wealth Management.
Product Knowledge: Deep technical expertise in HNW Insurance Solutions (Universal Life, Savings Plans, VHIS) and Premium Financing structures.
Sales Model: Proven track record of working in a "Hunter" or "Joint Sales" model (supporting RMs/Bankers rather than waiting for leads).
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage a team and drive business strategy.
Language: Fluent in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is highly preferred.
