The primary mission of this leadership role is to build, resource, and direct the bank's compliance and legal framework. Key responsibilities include:

• Strategic Leadership: Developing and executing annual compliance work plans and overseeing all regulatory and AML policies.

• Regulatory Relations: Acting as the primary liaison with the HKMA, SFC, and other law enforcement bodies for inspections and enquiries.

• Risk Management: Reviewing and signing off on compliance and AML risk assessments for new products and business initiatives.

• Legal Oversight: Coordinating with internal and external counsel to review bank legal documents, contracts, and commercial agreements.

• Culture & Governance: Promoting an integrated compliance culture and handling sensitive root cause analysis for complaints or breaches.

• Academic Foundation: Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, or Banking; professional legal or compliance qualifications are preferred.

• Proven Track Record: At least 10 years of experience in bank regulatory compliance, ideally with prior experience as a CO or MLRO.

• Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of the Banking Ordinance and experience dealing with local regulators like the HKMA.

• Leadership Skills: Strong people management capabilities with a history of leading high-stakes compliance projects.

• Language Proficiency: Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.
