About the Team
The successful candidate will join an elite executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Group Managing Director. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of business development, marketing, strategy and legal professionals. This team is characterised by a high-performance culture that values technical precision, commercial agility, and a mission-driven approach to innovation. You will collaborate closely with world-class R&D heads to translate complex technical milestones into commercially viable solutions for both the public and private sectors.
...The Role
As the Group Commercial Director, you will be the primary architect of the organisation's commercial growth and market influence. Your core mission is to monetise a vast portfolio and expand the organisation's footprint across the Greater Bay Area, and international markets.
Define and implement comprehensive commercial strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth and market expansion in alignment with governmental and organisational priorities.
Lead intellectual property (IP) and commercialisation strategies, managing a robust portfolio to drive value through licensing frameworks and technology spin-offs.
Drive high-level technical sales initiatives by crafting solution-based proposals that communicate the value of complex R&D technologies to diverse stakeholders.
Build and nurture high-level relationships with global clients, government bodies, and industry leaders to foster cross-border collaborations.
Develop and execute partnership plans that expand the partner network, strengthening ties with technology institutions, universities, and private enterprises.
Analyse global market trends and competitive landscapes to identify new revenue streams and ensure long-term market diversification.
Shape the overarching marketing strategy to amplify the organisation's influence and ensure brand alignment across all commercial channels.
Skills & Experience
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 6 years at a C-suite or equivalent senior management level.
Proven track record within the technology sector, ideally with experience in reputable multinational corporations, government-linked entities, or semi-government bodies.
Demonstrated success in business development across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and other regional markets.
Expertise in "value selling," with the ability to blend technical and business skills to sell innovative solutions and intangible ideas.
Exceptional ability to engage with C-level executives and high-ranking government officials, building consensus across complex stakeholder groups.
An existing, robust network within the I&T ecosystem, industry associations, and relevant government departments.
Exceptional command of English, Mandarin, and Cantonese is essential for high-level negotiations and presentations.
A goal-driven leader with a passion for emerging technologies and the resilience to navigate the intersection of public policy and private enterprise.
