The hiring company is a Hong Kong-based Hedge Fund, seeking a Full Stack Data Science Lead to oversee the technology stack and data strategy.about the team. This role serves as the bridge between Technology and Equity Research, with a strategic goal of automating workflows and implementing ML-driven investment tools.

• Architect and deploy a robust data warehouse strategy to consolidate disparate data sources (market data, internal portfolio data, alternative data) into a "single source of truth."
• Oversee the end-to-end data lifecycle, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and governance standards are met for downstream research and reporting.
• Partner with the CIO and Equity Research team to identify high-value use cases for AI/ML.
• Lead the development and deployment of predictive models (e.g., NLP for sentiment analysis, signal generation) that directly enhance the investment decision-making process and alpha generation.
• Act as the technical Project Manager for firm-wide efficiency initiatives. Utilize Python and Java to replace manual, Excel-heavy operational processes with automated scripts and streamlined applications, reducing operational risk and latency.
• Manage and optimize the firm’s hybrid cloud environment (AWS and Azure). Ensure the security, scalability, and uptime of the technology stack, including critical integrations with third-party platforms like Bloomberg and portfolio management systems.
• Provide hands-on leadership to the current team. Institute engineering best practices (code reviews, version control, CI/CD pipelines) and foster a culture of continuous technical upskilling to prepare the team for future scaling.
• Translate high-level business objectives from the CIO into a concrete technology roadmap. regularly present progress, budget requirements, and ROI analysis of technology investments to senior leadership, demonstrating the commercial acumen.

skills & experiences required.

• Bachelor degree of Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, etc.
• Advanced proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn for data/ML) and SQL (complex queries, stored procedures) and VBA
• Proficiency in Java for backend stability and legacy system integration.
• Expert-level familiarity with Bloomberg (Terminal, API, B-Pipe).
• Hands-on experience architecting solutions on AWS or Azure.
• Advanced capability in Power BI for creating dynamic executive dashboards.
• Proven ability to translate complex financial questions into technical data solutions.
• A "Player-Coach" mentality: Willing to write code while managing the broader strategy.
• Demonstrated track record of leading complex technical projects from conception to deployment.
