Responsibilities:
- Lead and enhance our internal compliance controls for AML/CTF, sanctions, and ABC, aligning with local regulatory requirements and Group Standards.
- As the designated MLRO, expertly review suspicious transactions and file STRs with financial intelligence authorities when necessary.
- Oversee and optimize the team's progress in clearing name screening and activity monitoring alerts, actively assisting to meet schedule targets.
- Stay current with regulatory changes and Group Compliance updates, proactively reviewing and revising AML/CTF, sanctions, and ABC policies and procedures.
- Provide expert guidance to business units on AML, sanctions, and ABC matters, ensuring full compliance with local, Group, and regulatory standards.
- Offer compliance advice on financial crime-related projects and new business initiatives.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive management information and reports to senior management, Group Compliance, and regulators.
- Conduct thorough compliance reviews and monitoring of AML, sanctions, and ABC frameworks to ensure policies and procedures are effective and robust.
- Develop and deliver impactful training on AML, sanctions, and ABC to staff, ensuring continuous awareness and understanding.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or Business is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in AML and/or ABC compliance within financial institutions, with a preference for experience in the insurance sector.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements from IA, AMCM, and BMA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and have excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
- A collaborative team player who is detail-oriented and a proactive self-starter.
