The Financial Control department is a vital, high-visibility finance function responsible for maintaining rigorous accounting integrity, regulatory reporting compliance, and balance sheet governance. about the job.
- Perform daily financial control and general ledger accounting operations, including voucher postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and trial balance reviews.
- Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing processes in strict compliance with HKFRS standards.
- Support the preparation and review of daily liquid capital computations and monthly regulatory returns under SFC Financial Resources Rules (FRR).
- Conduct detailed variance analysis on trading revenues, operating expenses, and financial position movements for management reporting packages.
- Liaise directly with external statutory auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities during annual audit cycles and tax filings.
- Participate in continuous process optimisation initiatives and system enhancement projects to automate financial control workflows.
skills & experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
- Member or finalist of CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting body.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial control, regulatory reporting, or audit within a securities firm, investment bank, or Big 4 / professional accounting firm.
- Practical understanding of SFC FRR regulations and HKFRS accounting principles is highly advantageous.
- Detail-oriented team player with strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in advanced Excel and financial software.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese is mandatory to effectively coordinate across local business units and regional teams; proficiency in Mandarin or Japanese is an advantage.
