about the team.You will join a high-performing Equities Operations team based in Hong Kong, serving as the primary point of contact for the Equity Desk and external global clients. Manage the day-to-day BAU settlement processes and resolve cash or stock breaks efficiently.
Ensure accurate and timely trade settlement across 14 Asia Pacific equity markets (excluding Japan and India).
Act as the first point of contact for the Equity Desk and external clients regarding settlement advice and discrepancy resolution.
Handle Stock Borrowing and Lending (SBL) settlements, conversions, and ETF creation/redemption processes.
Perform daily reconciliations to ensure firm books and records match external brokers and custodians.
Execute FX bookings and prepare regular payments related to settlement activities.
Coordinate with the Equity Capital Markets team on corporate deals, working with issuers and investors to ensure delivery.
Calculate daily stamp duty and manage SWIFT messaging with custodians to facilitate smooth operations.
Monitor excess borrow for the principal desk and update narratives on any settlement fails in Gloss.
Strictly adhere to internal controls, compliance policies, and Money Laundering Prevention Procedures.
skills & experiences required.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Equities Operations or Settlements within an investment bank or prime brokerage.
Proven expertise in Asia Pacific equity markets and familiarity with settlement platforms like Gloss.
Strong technical knowledge of SBL, ETFs, and FX booking procedures.
Ability to work under pressure during the Asia time zone to resolve transactional errors and avoid buy-ins.
Excellent communication skills in English; Cantonese or Mandarin fluency is highly advantageous for regional market coordination.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to perform complex reconciliations and stamp duty calculations.
A firm commitment to compliance, with experience handling SWIFT messages and AML reporting.
