- Operational Leadership: Oversee 24x7 system and application support by driving immediate resolution for critical failures, proactively addressing warnings or process changes, and validating that systems are fully functional and ready for release.
- Cloud Migration: Lead strategic cloud migration initiatives, managing resources and ensuring the seamless bi-directional deployment of workloads between on-premises data centers and public cloud platforms.
- Release Governance: Work closely with the software development team to orchestrate the end-to-end release management lifecycle, ensuring CI/CD pipelines deliver agility without compromising production stability.
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Contribute to defining the 3-5 year technology roadmap and manage the operational budget, ensuring financial efficiency while transitioning from reactive support to modernized infrastructure.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of around 20 FTEs, encompassing both IT operations and infrastructure specialists. Foster a collaborative environment and support professional growth.
- Governance & Standards: Formulate, implement, and maintain robust governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures for IT infrastructure management and operations.
- Industry Best Practices & Innovation: Proactively bringing in market intelligence and coaching the team on industry best practices to continuously improve operational maturity.
skills & experiences required.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 15-20 years of experience in IT infrastructure, combined with a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a leadership role within IT infrastructure and operations.
- Strong track record in managing a 24x7 support team for large-scale systems and applications (ideally within a sizable organization in the Banking & Financial Services industry or enterprise-level business).
- Deep knowledge of hybrid cloud migration and release management.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and security standards.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in English and Cantonese is a must. The candidate must be currently based in Hong Kong with a valid work permit.
- A down-to-earth individual who is willing to actively engage in operational aspects, not just strategy.
