The Product Control department is an elite, high-visibility finance function that serves as a vital strategic advisor to the front-office trading desks, market risk, and global executive committees. As a Director, you will inherit and lead a dedicated, high-performing team of technical valuation specialists and financial analysts. - Provide executive oversight and strategic direction for the global product control team, covering equity derivatives, fixed income, currencies, and commodities (FICC).
- Direct the independent price verification (IPV) process, valuation reserve policies, and prudent valuation adjustments (PVA) across complex trading portfolios.
- Lead the review and communication of daily and monthly trading profit and loss (P&L) attribution, ensuring accurate financial reporting and revenue explanations to business heads.
- Act as a senior advisor to the trading desk and risk management on capital efficiency, balance sheet usage, and new product approval (NPA) frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with regional and mainland regulators, internal audit executives, and external auditors to ensure robust compliance with SFC financial rules and international accounting standards.
- Spearhead large-scale digital transformation initiatives to optimize valuation engines and automate product control financial accounting workflows.
skills & experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional financial/accounting qualification is strictly mandatory.
- Minimum 10 years of robust experience in product control, valuation control, or middle office finance within a major securities firm, investment bank, or commodities house.
- Proven track record in a senior people-management capacity, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and upscale a sophisticated technical finance team.
- Deep technical knowledge of quantitative valuation models, Greek risk attribution analysis, and cross-border capital market regulations.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is mandatory to effectively steer regional operations and engage with mainland executive stakeholders; proficiency in Cantonese is highly advantageous.
