Design, develop, and maintain APIs and data transfer mechanisms to ensure a smooth, secure flow of data with external systems
Design and implement strategies for data replication, failover, and disaster recovery to ensure high availability and data durability, leveraging cluster technologies
Establish and enforce data security policies, including access controls, encryption, and audit logging, to protect sensitive data
Analyze system performance, identity bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance data throughput, response times, and overall system efficiency
Implement and monitor data validation processes, lineage tracking and quality control checks to ensure accuracy consistency, and reliability of data throughout its life cycle
Collaborate with bioinformaticians, software engineers, and stakeholders to design and implement data integration solutions for various genomics data types and clinical data

skills & experiences required.

Bachelor's degree in Comptuer Science or related field
6+ years of relevant experience in data integration or software engineering
Deep understanding of RESTful API development from design to deployment, including API security best practices (OAuth, JWT)
Experience in data formats and tools like JSON and OpenAPI
Experience with robust data transfer protocols such as SFTP, HTTPS, and AWS S3
Hands-on experience developing microservices that interact with messaging systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ
Proficiency in at least one of these languages: Java, Go, or C++
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and an understanding of load balancing
