As a Sourcing Officer, you will oversee strategic procurement activities, vendor relationships, and market research to ensure high-quality, cost-effective product sourcing. Your role will involve close collaboration with global teams, travel to explore new vendors, and ensuring compliance with rigorous standards, all while driving innovation and efficiency in sourcing processes.
... - Plan and manage sourcing unit activities, aligning with commercial and development strategies set by management and global merchandising teams.
- Supervise and assign tasks to marketing representatives and merchandise assistants, monitoring workload and coordinating vendor site visits.
- Negotiate optimal pricing and terms with suppliers in partnership with global buyers to maximise value.
- Maintain regular communication with management to stay informed on regional and global strategies, market conditions, and sales data impacting sourcing decisions.
- Evaluate local and international markets to recommend optimal product sources, coordinating trade show attendance and proposing cost-benefit analyses for market visits.
- Oversee order fulfilment, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and resolve issues through factory visits and vendor warehouse inspections.

- Bachelor’s degree holder
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing, production, or related fields, including at least 2 years in a buying office, agent, or importer serving the U.S. market.
- Proven expertise as a specialist in a specific product category or as a generalist in U.S., Canada, or UK retail markets.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken); additional languages or Chinese dialects are a plus.
- Strong understanding of buying office operations, manufacturing processes, materials, U.S. customs, and international logistics.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving, and organisational skills with a track record of building strong vendor relationships.
- Passion for products, knowledge of market trends, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Willingness to travel frequently to explore new sourcing opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
