- Participate in the development and implementation of applications and new features for our front or middle office users.
- Analyze requirements from business users, then design and implement workable digital solutions to improve performance.
- Continuously collaborate with stakeholders after implementation to ensure the system aligns with business needs.
- Partner with the IT infrastructure team and development teams from different regions to ensure deliverable meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide maintenance and troubleshooting for existing systems.
- Uphold software development best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
skills & experiences required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 3 years working in an investment bank, hedge fund, or trading firm environment.
- Expertise in software design and development with either Java (Spring Boot, multithreading) or C#/.NET (.NET Core, high-performance computing).
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle).
- Relevant domain knowledge of Front Office products such as Cash Equities, FX, or Options.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), version control, and industry best practices.
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
- Prior experience in CI/CD and automation testing would be advantageous.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in both Cantonese and English with a valid work permit in Hong Kong.
