The Tax function sits within the broader Finance department and acts as a critical advisory unit for the bank’s regional operations. You will join a sophisticated team that prides itself on technical accuracy and proactive risk management. about the job.
Lead and manage all tax-related matters for the Hong Kong branch, including corporate income tax, VAT, and stamp duty.
Provide technical tax advice on banking products, structured deals, and cross-border transactions to ensure tax efficiency.
Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns in compliance with the Inland Revenue Ordinance (IRO) and international standards.
Manage Transfer Pricing documentation and ensure compliance with global group policies and local requirements.
Monitor and assess the impact of international tax developments, such as BEPS 2.0, on the bank’s operations.
Liaise with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and external tax consultants on audits, inquiries, and tax planning initiatives.
skills & experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, or a related discipline.
CPA or other professional qualification is mandatory.
Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate tax, with a strong preference for candidates from the banking or financial services sector.
Deep knowledge of Hong Kong tax laws and familiarity with international tax treaties.
Proven experience in managing Transfer Pricing and cross-border tax advisory.
Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with local stakeholders and the Taiwan Head Office.
