As a Product Engineer (SDA), you will join a specialized product development team focused on small domestic appliances. You will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the development of new products and the improvement of existing ones by providing crucial technical support and innovative ideas.
- Optimizing existing products to achieve superior quality and significant cost savings.
- Supporting Product Development and Merchandising teams on all aspects of product performance, specifications, benchmarking, and quality requirements throughout all stages of development.
- Understanding and applying technical requirements and specifications into the product development process.
- Collaborating effectively with merchandising and sourcing teams, as well as factories, on technical and engineering aspects.
- Ideating product improvements and presenting these to relevant stakeholders.
- Conducting test failure analysis and communicating recommendations to suppliers, while clarifying testing issues with external laboratories.
- Bringing your own ideas and passion into the product range.
skills & experiences required.
- Degree or above qualification in engineering or related discipline. Relevant experience in technical product development, specifically within home and kitchen appliances (small domestic appliances).
- Strong technical expertise in home and kitchen appliances, including knowledge of mechanical (internal) structures.
- A good sense of market trends and a genuine interest in home and kitchen appliances, coupled with familiarity with relevant market trends.
- Knowledge of EU safety protocols and requirements.
- Familiarity with MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin is required, with additional language skills in German and Cantonese being beneficial.
- A proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with European companies/markets/designs is advantageous.
- Beneficial if you have factory experience or experience dealing with suppliers in home and kitchen appliances, are familiar with manufacturing processes in plastic/metal and assembly, and possess basic knowledge of tooling.
