- Lead the end-to-end technical development of packaging, from initial prototyping to final validation and performance testing.
- Evaluate factory capabilities, material costs, and manufacturing feasibility to ensure alignment with commercial targets.
- Translate design concepts into technical samples, overseeing the transition from aesthetic vision to functional reality.
- Conduct deep-dive troubleshooting for existing packaging structures to resolve durability or cost-inefficiency issues.
- Review technical blueprints and material specifications to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and handling standards.
- Spearhead value-engineering initiatives to identify significant cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Establish rigorous testing protocols to validate that all packaging solutions exceed international customer standards.
- Consult with internal design and procurement teams to refine constructions for better logistics safety and lower material spend.
- Provide expert technical critiques on factory samples to improve structural integrity and production efficiency.
skills & experiences required.
- Extensive technical knowledge of primary packaging construction and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated ability to engineer designs into specific price points through material and construction optimization.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical packaging, R&D, or cost-engineering role is preferred.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on market pricing and production constraints.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to navigate a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for managing relationships with global suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Professional fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is a mandatory requirement.
- A mature, independent work ethic with the flexibility to travel regularly within the region.
