Work scope:
Oversee the safe, accurate, and aseptic compounding of chemotherapy, targeted treatments, and relevant supportive care medications.
Conduct rigorous clinical reviews of oncology prescriptions, verifying drug protocols, body surface area (BSA) calculations, laboratory parameters, and dosing intervals.
Partner closely with oncologists, oncology nurses, and the broader clinical team to optimize therapeutic regimens and manage treatment side effects.
Provide comprehensive counseling to cancer patients and their families regarding their treatment regimens, potential side effects, and oral oncology medication compliance.
Lead the monitoring, reporting, and management of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and medication errors within the oncology unit.
Maintain strict inventory control of high-value oncology therapeutics, managing specialized storage conditions and minimizing clinical wastage.
Enforce absolute compliance with international oncology pharmacy guidelines, radiation/hazardous drug handling regulations, and local pharmacy laws.
Drive the continuous improvement of oncology pharmacy workflows, electronic prescription systems, and clinical quality assurance measures.
Requirements:
Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
Valid registration and current practicing certificate with the local Pharmacy Board.
Proven experience working in an oncology pharmacy environment (hospital or specialized cancer center) is a strict requirement.
Solid clinical knowledge of cancer trajectories, chemotherapy regimens, immunotherapy protocols, and hazardous drug handling standards.
Certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) or specialized post-graduate training in cancer care is highly advantageous.
Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong commitment to clinical safety and aseptic techniques.
Empathetic communication and interpersonal talents to support vulnerable patients and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary medical team.
Proficiency in spoken and written English and Cantonese
