As a Head of University Guidance, you will report directly to the Headmaster and lead a team in providing comprehensive university guidance to our students.
About the job.
- Design and lead a comprehensive university and careers guidance program for Senior School students and families, covering early pathway planning through to final application decisions.
- Provide expert, individual guidance on global university pathways, subject choices, admissions strategies, and student profile enhancement.
- Oversee and enhance the school's application workflows, timelines, and platforms to ensure quality outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global university admissions officers, alumni, and partner organizations to raise the school's international profile.
- Plan and deliver informative workshops, university visits, and parent sessions on global admissions trends and preparation strategies.
- Support non-academic readiness, including interview preparation, leadership opportunities, enrichment activities, and competitions for high-potential pupils.
- Line manage and develop the guidance team, ensuring high standards of service and collaboration.
Skills & experiences required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in university counselling or admissions advising
- Proven track record of successful university placements, particularly to top-tier US and UK universities.
- Deep knowledge of global higher education systems (especially the US and UK), application processes, timeline management
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English is a MUST.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a small team and work effectively with students, parents, and university partners.
