As a Head of University Guidance, you will report directly to the Headmaster and lead a team in providing comprehensive university guidance to our students.
About the job.
Design and lead a comprehensive university and careers guidance program for Senior School students and families, covering early pathway planning through to final application decisions.
Provide expert, individual guidance on global university pathways, subject choices, admissions strategies, and student profile enhancement.
Oversee and enhance the school's application workflows, timelines, and platforms to ensure quality outcomes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with global university admissions officers, alumni, and partner organizations to raise the school's international profile.
Plan and deliver informative workshops, university visits, and parent sessions on global admissions trends and preparation strategies.
Support non-academic readiness, including interview preparation, leadership opportunities, enrichment activities, and competitions for high-potential pupils.
Line manage and develop the guidance team, ensuring high standards of service and collaboration.
Skills & experiences required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in university counselling or admissions advising
- Proven track record of successful university placements, particularly to top-tier US and UK universities.
- Deep knowledge of global higher education systems (especially the US and UK), application processes, timeline management
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English is a MUST.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a small team and work effectively with students, parents, and university partners.
