about the job.As an AVP or VP within the DMO, you will be a key architect of our Data Governance ecosystem. You will lead the operationalization of global data standards and ensure our reporting frameworks—specifically BCBS 239 and local regulatory requirements—are robust, transparent, and compliant.
... Framework Implementation: Executing a comprehensive governance strategy that defines clear ownership (Owners, Stewards, Consumers) and establishes accountability for data assets.
Regulatory Alignment: Leading the compliance efforts for BCBS 239 and HKMA mandates, developing policies that mitigate risk and enhance reporting accuracy.
Tool Orchestration: Powering our governance practices through Collibra, managing metadata, data lineage, and the cataloging of Key Data Elements (KDEs).
Automation & Insight: Partnering with business units to modernize legacy processes using Alteryx for automation and Power BI for creating high-impact management dashboards.
Governance Oversight: Supporting the Data Management Working Group to identify data quality gaps and spearhead remediation initiatives.
skills & experiences required.
Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Finance, or a related technical field, with at least 5+ years of professional experience in data governance or analytics within the banking sector.
Regulatory Expertise: Deep subject matter expertise in BCBS 239 and a strong grasp of banking regulations (e.g., HKMA).
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Collibra is essential. Proficiency in Alteryx for workflow automation and Power BI for data visualization is highly preferred.
Strategic Execution: Proven ability to define metadata standards, data dictionaries, and end-to-end data lineage in a complex institutional environment.
Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical data teams and business functions like Audit, Risk, and Compliance.
Certifications: Professional credentials such as CDMP or Collibra certifications are considered a significant advantage.
