The team handles a large variety of general capital markets matters with wide geographical exposure. This is a permanent position requiring a thorough understanding of strict transaction timelines, as well as flexibility for non-standard hours and weekends. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive support to Partners and Associates in the Hong Kong office.
- Managing legal matters for leading global banks across general Capital Markets (including DCM and ECM).
- Reviewing initial and subsequent documentation drafts, and summarising relevant changes for clients.
- Handling documentation relating to transaction closings and completions.
- Conducting rigorous document checklist reviews and detailed annotations.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, each with a different scope of work, in an efficient and timely manner.
skills & experience required.
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- 2 to 4 years of paralegal experience in general Capital Markets (DCM/ECM), ideally gained from leading U.S. or magic circle law firms.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, Mandarin, and Cantonese is mandatory, including the proven ability to review legal drafts in Chinese.
- Proven capability to perform routine tasks independently and maintain the high service quality expected by global banking clients.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively balance complex, high-stakes work.
- A self-motivated, adaptable mindset with an unwavering commitment to excellence and professional initiative.
