Our client is a fast-growing, dynamic financial services institution with a strong presence in Hong Kong. To support their expanding capital markets operations and modern trading infrastructure, they are seeking an experienced Application Support Lead / Vice President to oversee mission-critical trading platforms and drive operational stability across regional and global markets.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will be responsible for first-line application production support across equities, futures, mutual funds, and virtual asset trading platforms. You will manage platform availability, troubleshoot vendor systems, coordinate deployments, and ensure optimal uptime for high-frequency operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver robust Tier-1 production application support for equities, futures, mutual funds, and virtual asset trading systems.
- Investigate, triage, and resolve system issues in close collaboration with third-party vendors and internal engineering teams.
- Monitor system health, stability, and exchange connectivity (HKEX and international markets) to ensure high availability.
- Plan and execute internal system upgrades, deployment cycles, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) following institutional governance standards.
- Drive Incident and Change Management processes, including post-incident root cause analysis and reporting to executive management.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership; candidates appointed as Vice President will directly supervise the support team and mentor junior engineers.
- Deliver scheduled non-office hours remote/on-call escalation support and handle B2B application integrations.
Skills & Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in application support within the financial services sector, brokerage firms, or financial technology vendors.
- Hands-on experience with front-to-back Order Management Systems (OMS) such as Ayers, Sharp Point, or similar trading platforms.
- In-depth understanding of equity/futures trade lifecycles, operational workflows, and exchange connectivity protocols (e.g., FIX).
- Functional familiarity with technical infrastructure: SQL queries, Linux/Windows environments, VMware, system monitoring tools, and reporting tools.
- Strong issue-resolution skills with a track record of handling live vendor applications and production deployments.
- Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (both written and spoken) is required to communicate with regional stakeholders and vendors.
- Candidates with direct supervisory experience will be considered for the Vice President title.
