- Partner with other architects on the team to lead the architectural design and technical vision for existing and upcoming web and mobile application projects in the business, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term technology strategy.
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps and architectural blueprints for applications, providing clear technical direction and a framework for development to both the software development team and third-party vendors.
- Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency, scalability, security, and maintainability across all application development efforts.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for application development, considering factors such as performance, security, cost-effectiveness, and ease of adoption.
- Effectively communicate architectural concepts, design decisions, and technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Champion architectural and industry best practices, driving the adoption of new technologies and approaches through compelling presentations and clear explanations.
skills & experiences required.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on building high-performance web and mobile applications, combined with at least 1-2 years of dedicated experience as an Application Architect/Software Architect/Solution Architect/Technical Lead or similar role with proven experience defining architectural blueprints and contributing to technical roadmaps.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and building scalable, secure, and resilient applications using modern technologies and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of architectural patterns (e.g., microservices), design principles, and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their relevant services for application deployment, scaling, and management.
- Knowledge of payment gateway, loyalty program system or e-commerce is a plus
- Strong business acumen and the ability to communicate with and influence stakeholders with a technical or non-technical background, and is able to effectively translating technical concepts into simple language in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in English and currently based in Hong Kong with a valid work permit is a must; proficiency in Chinese speakiing would be advantageous.
