    skills & experiences required.Consultant is a key member of the Hong Kong team. The scope of the activities is broad and ranges from statutory actuarial work to cutting edge value creation. Business Development, building effective relationships, project delivery and open communication lines with the relevant people across the business is critical is this role.
    • Support client relationship with subject matter expertise and client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects; Creating project plans; Monitoring progress to deadlines and budget
    • Ensuring appropriate and effective communication among team members and the client
    • Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes
    • Take responsibility for the delivery of projects which meet or exceed client expectations, ensuring that they are delivered to time and on budget
    • Support scoping of projects and drafting statements of work
    • Ensure meeting of project expectations, timelines and work quality
    • Working as part of a multidisciplinary consulting or joint client-consultant team to analyze issues and develop value-added solutions
    • Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
    • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
    • Ensure project management excellence to ensure on-time delivery and quality that meets or exceeds not only our internal high standards but also client expectations
    • Build strong relationships internally and with client representatives
    • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
    • Ensure projects on which you work achieve and maintain high professional standards
    • Engender a continuous improvement culture
    • Maintain and develop own technical and industry knowledge
    • Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches
    • Assist with the pricing, valuation and development of insurance products
    • Work with Actuarial Software to develop financial projections of clients’ insurance business
    • Prepare first draft reports for review by the lead consultant on the client team(s)
    • Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities/maintain steady progress through exams

    • University Degree Required
    • Commenced studies for an International Actuarial qualification
    • Fluency in English and one additional language. Cantonese and/or Mandarin could be an advantage
    • Some relevant work experience (4+ years) in either consulting firm or life insurer
    • Good business acumen
    • Strong communication skills – ability to use both written and oral communication to gain organizational support and enthusiasm for initiatives
    • Analytical skills – ability to assess/analyse the business, economic and accounting/tax impact of proposed initiatives and to recommend the appropriate action
    • Strategic thinking – ability to understand broad business issues within financial services and their strategic implications to make sound business recommendations
    • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships
    • Self-driven achiever who values teamwork and collaboration, and exhibits decisiveness and integrity in all that they do
    • Working knowledge of Excel, MS Word
