Our client, a leader within Travel Retail, is looking a Training Manager to assist in setting the business goals and strategic plan. As a Training Manager, you will be working closely with the HR Director and Manaing Director to ensure that the training goals are effectively being implemented. In addition, the TM will also work alongside the Retail Operations department to ensure Brand training for staff is also conducted.

As the Training Manager, you will manage a team of 2 to 3 individuals, who will also be responsible for ensuring the career developmemt of training team members by providing regular coaching and identifying areas for growth.

Training Development

  • Develop Skills Training Program i.e. Onboarding Program, Mentorship Program, Coaching, Basic Service training, leadership, Time management, languages for operational staff and corporate staff
  • Develop and review the Technical Training programs, both for:
    • Retail team: Customer Service, Beauty Academy, and product knowledge (branded or multi-brand), Selling Skills (basic, cross-selling, up-selling).
    • Back office: Financial, Microsoft Office and other computer Apps user, Law, etc (according to ad-hoc needs).
  • Work together with brands to ensure an efficient and productive product training.
  • Update and develop training presentation and contents.
  • Update and localize corporate training (culture, compliance, etc).
  • Develop employee engagement activities, best practice sharing among stores, act as a role model for team members and build up the positive team attitude towards the sculture.
Training Delivery
  • Provide all Beauty Advisors and operational teams with the necessary and practical service / selling skills and product knowledge (and refresher training) to drive retail sales productivity, and work very close to Ops Director during the follow up of the implementation.
  • Conduct the train the trainer, coaching and leadership programs to Supervisors and Heads of Department.
Training Needs Analysis/Training Evaluations
  • Work very close to MD, ROD and Heads of Department to identify training needs and\or gaps to achieve company strategic business plan.
  • Regularly conduct store visits to check and audit the operation process and service level after training.
  • Plan and organize skills development programs to support recruitment, development, coaching and retention of office and retail staff.
  • Monitor and track the progress of staff in the relevant areas trained and evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Build up training system/database, and work out on master training plan.
  • Collect and consolidate the training results/feedbacks for follow up action plans.
Training Budget
  • Plan, maintain and manage training budgets effectively to facilitate training execution.
Service Audit/Mystery Shopping Program
  • Support ROD to achieve the highest Customer Service standards on the stores, as per their culture and vision.
  • In charge of service audit and mystery shopper program.
  • Conduct Service Audit re-assessment coordinated with ROD and Supervisors.
Training calendar Coordination and Administration
  • Coordinate brand training with Retail Operations Tea.
  • Manage and plan monthly training calendar.
  • Prepare weekly report on training updates.
  • Vet all training subsidy/grant applications and course sponsorship.
skills & experiences required.
  • Minimum 10 years' professional training experience in retail industry with good understanding of beauty and fashion business;
  • Degree in Business administration or equivalent, preferably with Train the Trainer certification;
  • Outgoing, detail conscious, creative and a team leader;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and dynamic work environment;
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills;
  • Business oriented and ability to integrate training to work processes;
  • Experience in designing and delivering training courses;
  • Strong written and oral English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
