    Our client is a leading EU buying office with over 10,000 stores globally. Hong Kong, being one of the regional headquarters, is now expanding and therefore would like to invite a passionate and experienced compliance and sustainability professional to join their team in Hong Kong.

    about the job.

    As the Supply Chain Compliance Manager, you are responsible for

    • Identify potential risks to the company in respect of working standards and conditions, and accordingly provide corrective recommendations to the top management to match with legal obligations and company requirements.
    • Constantly keep in touch with the headquarter, as well as the sourcing teams and other key stakeholders to ensure the working environment of both the company and suppliers is up to company standards.
    • Convey problems identified to concerned parties and reflect in the monthly R&S report in a timely manager.
    • Audit and guide the suppliers to meet the compliance and sustainability standards of the company in accordance with legal obligations and company requirements by leading a team of auditors.
    • Keep abreast on new laws, regulations and compliance requirements so as to communicate with related parties.
    • Assess new opportunities, risks and trends among existing and potential sourcing countries.
    • Build and maintain relationship with local NGOs, ILO, government, industry associations and multi-stakeholders initiatives such as BW/ ZDCH/ ACCORD to further improve the update the existing company compliance and sustainability programs.
    • Develop adequate training and capacity building for the team, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
    • Contribute to the development of the overall CSR strategy.
    skills & experiences required.

    To be successful at this position, you need

    • Bachelor degree in sustainability, supply chain, engineering or related discipline.
    • At least 10 year experience in compliance and sustainability with at least 3 year people management experience.
    • Extensive knowledge in EU regulatory compliance and sustainability requirements.
    • Exposure of managing compliance and sustainability issues for suppliers and factories.
    • Experience of handling compliance issues of suppliers such as strikes, unions, OHS, fire safety and HSE.
    • Experience of rolling out sustainability projects such as Zero Discharge/ RSL/ HIGG would be a plus.
    • Good communication skills in English and Chinese.
