about the company.

Our client is a renowned US buying office for a famous apparel brand. They are currently looking for a strong Senior Fabric Technical Manager to lead all raw materials related technical issues.
about the job.
  • Report to the VP, you will be the key person to lead the raw materials technical team
  • Lead all fabric technical process. This includes driving fabric risk assessment processes and standards internally.
  • Utilize Fabric technical knowledge related to spinning, weaving, dyeing & finishing, to guide fabric development and bulk while working closely with fabric R&D and merchandising and to understand the creative vision of each project and deliver bulk as per requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally to establish all woven fabric standards to meet league/team/program requirements and manage fabric optimization to avoid SKU proliferation.
  • Prioritize and direct all fabric quality management to meet development calendar timelines and on-time delivery in conjunction with Product Development, Sourcing & regional hubs.
  • Drive fabric re-engineering work to meet cost, lead-time and quality challenges.
skills & experiences required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Chemistry or relevant disciplines.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Textile industry with strong understanding of fabric substrates, knowledge of color/dying process.
  • Score superior on Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Test would be an advantage.
  • Must be able to identify issues and analyze relevant data to determine course of action and generate solutions.
  • Strong team player.
  • Work in fast-paced, constantly changing, and deadline and process-driven environment with extremely time-sensitive procedures.
  • Understanding of Quality Control.
  • Domestic and International travel as required including visits to Distribution Centers and Sourcing hubs as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills.
  • Strong PC skills in MS Office and PLM.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
