Our client is a leading US Investment bank with a foot print in over 40 countries worldwide. They have recently been granted their retail banking license in HK and are looking for a Senior Project Manager to work in partnership with the ED to oversee a Retail Banking Digital platform transform project.

The Global Projects Group (GPG) provides Program Management for major cross-area programs requiring globally coordinated execution across Operations functional/product areas and firm divisions (Finance, Tech, Legal and Compliance etc). The main drivers for typical GPG initiatives are firm/business strategic initiatives, regulatory reform and market/industry changes.

The role requires strong execution skills in programme management, cross-area governance, planning & implementation. It will support Operations programme management and require active management across multiple workstreams, Operations and Tech teams for a specific retail Banking initiative. It will involve management of the Operations Program Management Office functions, team and deliveries, and support workstream leads across the spectrum of products, functions, divisions and firm business groups. The role will apply structure, organisation, effective management and tracking to the programme. A good working knowledge of the financial services industry is essential and Operations experience and subject matter knowledge are a plus.

The candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Programme Management

Delivery of programme management support throughout the lifecycle of the programme in support of the Ops Programme Lead

Ongoing management of a fully functional Programme Management Office (PMO)

Direction and creation of materials for programme charters, governance models, workstream structures, key dependencies, RAID logs along with appropriate version control etc.

Development and application of appropriate standards across the programme management tool set

Management of work plan development, requirements collection, issues, risks and scope changes throughout all phases of the project

Working with stakeholders to prioritise work and drive milestones to completion, including facilitating Working Groups

Tracking and reporting status from leads across Operations

Managing risks and issues with owners and providing appropriate reporting and escalation

Preparing reports and status updates to different stakeholder and governance groupsLeadership

Strong sense of ownership and accountability

Direction of meetings, forums and issue resolution with stakeholders and SMEs Communication and Relationship Management

Very strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, both in person and acting remotely

Developing effective working relationships and demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and accountability

Interacting with managers to help define and document project objectives, governance and priorities within the scope of the project/program/initiative

Interfacing with key stakeholders, sponsors and other senior management to confirm program/project sponsorship/support, strategic alignment, and report progress, achievements, significant issues and risks.

Required

10+ years relevant project and programme management experience, including working within larger multi-divisional programs

Highly motivated and able to work both individually and within a team

Work well with ambiguity by quickly adapting behaviour and work methods to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities

Capability to approach problems as challenges and deal with them constructively

Organised and able to work with tight delivery timeframes

Client skills: very strong verbal communication and inter-personal skills to develop effective working relationships

Capacity to work with geographically dispersed teams

Ability to create and leverage Programme Management documents & toolsStrong analytic and problem-solving skills; ability to learn quickly and clarify poorly defined problems
