job description

about the company.

The company provides a comprehensive range of ship management services to cargo ship owners worldwide with advance custom in-house SaaS platform.about the team.You will be the Product owner and be responsible for working alongside stakeholders- Development Teams (based in HK & India); Ops & Support (based in HK & India); Internal Stakeholders – Director-level and below; to ensure the product enhancement and launch them smoothly.about the job.
  • Working across the Digital / IT programme including new solutions based around the custom in-house Saas platform
  • Responsible for working alongside stakeholders and our in-house development team to define the strategy and user stories/requirements for products, ensure these are fit for purpose and launch them smoothly.
  • Own the product backlogs and prioritise using appropriate techniques
  • Define the business value each feature adds to the product (using ROI analysis), prepare acceptance criteria in conjunction with the wider team and support delivery of these features
  • Working closely with operational and senior stakeholders to determine the underlying business process required and how these support the user stories defined
  • Lead the change management for successful deployment of the new product and monitor its use through metrics
  • Act as key part of business focus to develop leading digital capability to enhance and improve our platforms
  • Coach operational (business) product owners in describing well-defined user stories that the development team can build
  • Working in close collaboration (in a matrix-based environment) across all internal IT team members and 3 rd party vendors
  • Understand market trends and technology advancements within the shipping industry applying this into product plans
    Relationship (mostly Internal and or External) and Nature of Communication List the internal and external
skills & experiences required.
  • 5+ years experience as a Product Owner / Senior Business Analyst role
  • Proven track record using customer centric methods and approaches to define user stories, acceptance criteria and the delivery of these working alongside in-house and third-party development teams
  • Developed and maintained a product roadmap and associated backlog(s) using best practice to support its delivery
  • Strong influencing experience – including customer advocacy, empathy and listening skills
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively across all levels including with senior (C-Level) executives
  • Demonstration of working in a matrix team - across a range of IT teams focused on delivering the best outcome on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards
  • Fluent communication skills in spoken and written English
  • Working experience of Agile methodologies, tools and techniques (eg SCRUM, XP, Lean, JIRA, etc)
  • Strong base understanding in key technology techniques and their use (eg Microservices, APIs, etc)
  • SCRUM / Agile and/or Lean Six Sigma qualifications would be beneficial
