    Our client is one of the largest department store chains with over 60 years of operation and 400,000 employees worldwide. Their business focuses on household, home textile, decoration, and apparel items. They are seeking a high-caliber individual with a solid merchandising skillset to join as Merchandising Manager.

    about the job.

    • Developing and implementing the strategic sourcing plan in order to fulfill the business needs
    • Managing the end-to-end merchandising activities from buyer's brief to shipment, meeting buyers' expectations
    • Following up with suppliers to give appropriate instructions on the manufacture, preparation, and shipment of the merchandise
    • Establishing a strong supplier base and developing alternative solutions to achieve product and business objectives
    • Conducting price quotation and negotiation, costing, market sample development, forecasting, and vendor capacity management
    • Implementing sourcing strategies to support strategic opportunities and the business
    • Leading the onboarding of new suppliers/factories and continuous improvements of related processes
    • Ensuring that potential new vendors and factories can meet the company's standards and requirements
    • Reviewing quotation records and supporting price negotiations with suppliers to ensure margin objectives are met
    • Managing critical path milestones and acting proactively to mitigate or escalate expected delays
    • Supporting sourcing manager and the buying team to build a competitive and commercial product range that reflects the design stories is delivered to customers
    • Developing and maintaining transparent and honest relationships with suppliers, based on trust and respect and in full compliance with the company's ways of working with suppliers
    skills & experiences required.
    • Degree holder in any discipline
    • 8 years of Merchandising/ Sourcing experience
    • Candidates who have experience in buying offices are a plus
    • Excellent command of computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Pro-active, mature, outgoing, and self-motivated
    • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership
