about the company

Our client is a European corporate bank with expanding operation in Asia. They are seeking for a VP to join their Financial Reporting team in Hong Kong.

about the job

You will:

  • handle full spectrum of financial and regulatory reporting for the HK entity
  • prepare regulatory reports in accordance to HKMA requirements
  • review and prepare HKMA Banking Returns, statutory surveys in relation to global trade finance activities
  • monitor risk exposure, compute liquidity ratio and prepare liquidity reports
  • review accounting packs including P&L, balance sheets and income statements prepared by team members
  • assist in month-end closing procedure and compile monthly expense reports
  • ensure financial data and the bank’s cashflow fulfill HKMA standards
  • collaborate with stakeholders including HKMA assessors, internal and external auditors
  • participate in ad hoc financial projects such as system implementation and process improvement

skill and experience required

  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years' financial and regulatory experience gained from corporate bank
  • Prior Big 4 audit experience is a plus
  • Technically solid in HKMA returns including liquidity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong team player with growth mind-set
  • Proficient user in Excel
  • Good command of English, Mandarin and Cantonese
