- Implement the operational risk management framework and ensure its effectiveness
- Support business initiatives without compromising standards of internal control by liaising with the Businesses to foster the understanding and spirit of controls and ensure accurate and objective reporting to Senior Management
- Ensure that potential operational risk areas are accurately recognised and creative solutions are delivered in a timely, concise and appropriate manner to optimise the level of business control and maximising efficiency
- Build the department with sufficient resources and skills to perform as a Centre of Excellence in operational risk management
- Ensure oversight and support, other subsidiaries/group companies by sharing best practices, tools and expertise
skills & experiences required
- University degree in finance, accounting or related discipline
- At least 10+ years of relevant working experience in operational risk management or compliance in retail banking or virtual bank
- Knowledge of regulatory environment in the financial services sector and exposure to an operations and control environment (e.g. audit, compliance)
- Ability to conceptualise and articulate the operational impact of business change
- Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
- Strong track record in managing/leading a team
