You will act as prepare or checker for financial reporting and analysis e.g. month end closing, internal management accounts, account schedules, financial commentary analysis, Group reporting to ensure the reporting cycle in a smooth and timely manner, as well as management reporting for senior management to enable the financial performance of the business to be tracked and decisions to be made
You will have to prepare regulatory reporting e.g. IA quarterly long term business returns, supplementary information mainly on investments to HK regulatory authority (IA) so as to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
You are required to check survey reporting to Census and Statistics Department, which is prepared by junior team member(s), to ensure the accuracy and completeness in filing in the survey. ∙ Prepare premium journal entry, claim journal entry checking, accounts reconciliations in order to provide detailed review with control in place
You also have to check monthly expense accrual and recharges across Hong Kong business so as to provide the Chief Executive and HASL Asia Leadership team with the information upon which to take decisions
You will be responsible for annual tax filing e.g. review annual profits tax computation provided by auditors and reply letter to Inland Revenue Department to meet the regulatory requirements on tax, and also assist in providing supporting information
You will assist in year-end audit work e.g. audited financial statements and ensure appropriate internal controls are in place to ensure that our risks are appropriately managed, help address the questions raised by auditor/ Group Tax
You will also participate in ad hoc projects and answer the queries from other departments and Head Office

skills & experiences required.

Minimum 5 years working experiences in full set of accounts (including regulatory reporting) in life insurance industry, preferably with 2 years supervisory experience in financial reporting after being qualified
Insurance and investment accounting knowledge is a must
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Good communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese ∙ Able to work independently
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of Oracle account and Life Asia (AS/400) is an advantage
