Our client is a public sector organization dedicated to serving the community and driving positive change. They are currently seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join their team and play a critical role in financial decision-making and strategic planning.

Job Description:

As the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for this esteemed public sector organization, you will lead the FP&A function, providing valuable insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring financial sustainability and optimizing resource allocation for impactful public service delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial planning process, including budget preparation and forecasting
• Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic decision-making
• Revamp and drive the process reengineering initiatives to enhance financial operations
• Provide insights on financial performance and variance analysis to senior management
• Collaborate with department heads to align financial plans with organizational goals
• Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to drive operational efficiency
• Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including government entities and regulatory bodies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis roles within the public sector plus Big 4 experience is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of public finance principles, budgeting processes, and governmental accounting standards
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
• Experience with public sector financial regulations and compliance requirements
