• Take ownership of thorough statistical analyses and implement cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning approaches to enhance the data science capabilities
• Contribute to the technical data science strategy, focusing on improving and optimizing the performance and stability of new and existing Data science projects such as creating processes and technology tools for data ingestion, tagging, and cleaning, analyzing data sets to generate descriptive statistics, proposing potential applications of data, monitoring and improving automated data collection
• Organize, process, and derive insights from data, validate concepts, and make predictions
• Collect, analyze, and communicate data insights from internal and external sources, ensuring reliability, interpretations, and findings are carefully considered
• Staying informed about the company's computing, digital, data, and IT environment, as well as planned changes, to develop meaningful data science products.
• Engage with global research and industry to identify and implement new technologies and best practices
  

skills & experiences required.

• PhD in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, or computer science is a must
• 3-5 years of experience working within a data science/quantitative role with a proven track record of applying Data Science techniques to solve real world business problems within the banking/financial services/fintech industry
• Strong knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques
• Solid experience in Python/R, C++ or another scripting language
• Experience working with financial data and a good understanding of financial products would be advantageous
• Fluent in spoken and written English; and currently based in Hong Kong
